2012 Olympics Boxing Coin
Shane Abery, the designer of the Olympics London 2012 Boxing Coin and a delivery driver from Reading, only entered the competition in order to encourage his children to enter and didn’t consider submitting his design until friends and family insisted he do so. Shane wanted to ensure that the detail of the boxing gloves was as accurate as possible so he went and bought a pair to model his Olympics London 2012 Boxing Coin design on. On the back of the coin is a portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS along with the year 2011. The Olympic London 2012 Coins are attractively packaged with original graphics pertaining to the featured sport.

2012 Olympics Hockey Coin
Robert Evans, the designer of the Olympics London 2012 Hockey Coin, lives in Cardiff and is an engraver/sculptor at the Royal Mint. He entered the competition because he is passionate about athletics and thought it was a great way to get involved with London 2012. To make sure he captured the sport accurately, Robert took a series of photographs of two hockey players from the University of Glamorgan and based his design on them. The portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS features on the obverse of each coin with the date 2011. Supplied in attractive collector cards showing a pictogram of the sport featured on the coin.

Jonathan Olliffe, the designer of the Olympics London 2012 Gymnastics and the Aquatics Coins, is a designer and sculptor from Oxford. He creates contemporary fine metal work for people’s homes and is known worldwide for his art. Jonathan likes to think of designing these coins as getting a piece of his art in every pocket. 2012 Olympics Cycling Coin
Theo Crutchley-Mack, the designer of the Olympics London 2012 Cycling Coin, is a student at a college in West Yorkshire studying art and design. He has been a dedicated cyclist from a young age and is a member of a cycling club. Theo has tried a variety of cycling styles, which is where he found the inspiration for his track cycling Olympics London 2012 Cycling Coin design.
